Constellation Networks Corporation (CNC) is a small Michigan based company providing global satellite services. They specialize in providing broadband access to regions without traditional technological infrastructure in place. CNC has entered the Iraq marketplace as a provider of services for voice, video, fax and broadband Internet. The company’s network operations center, located in Michigan, is staffed around the clock to provide control of traffic flow, network monitoring and technical support. As one example, CNC provides monthly services to Creative Networks, an Iraqi company, through CNC’s agent Business Satellite Solutions.

According to Kristin Grassa, President and owner, “Constellation’s focus is in the developing regions of the world whose communications infrastructure has yet to be implemented via fiber or copper lines as well as regions where said infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. Since inception, we have had our focus on the emerging market overseas where fiber is in short supply and satellite is the most cost effective solution.” CNC is expanding its capacity from two satellites to three and has also supplied U.S. made equipment to its subscribers. As a result Iraqis have been contracted to install, repair and maintain services.
